"I loved the days when the scariest thing was a mean fortune cookie note and the relief to find a corny quote about friendship or how to practice mandarin on the other side. The wonderful abundance of joy and togetherness spent eating at a local Phó restaurant with family or friends is a blessing. How I can smell and taste in remembrance is also a joy. And I am grateful for these joys that will sustain me for the dark times in the future."
